Day 8 of the Clutter Free Challenge covers kids’ stuff, sports equipment, and/or hobby or art supplies. Out of all of these categories the only one I will not be covering is sports equipment. In my home I have 1 girl and 4 boys ages 9 all the way down to 4 months. Right now I do not have any children in sports or interested in a particular sport, therefore no sports equipment. I am sure one day, however, I will have sports stuff because I have 4 boys.
Kathi suggests getting rid of 25 items for today. When I read this I laughed. Why? you ask, because this number seems so low to me. I can easily get rid of 25 items in my daughter’s room as she tends to be a bit of a pack rat. She hangs on to everything she has ever made.
I love all things sewing, scrapbooking, crocheting, and just artsy crafty in general. I will have no problem getting rid of 25 items from my hobby and art supplies either. For me, anything that has to do with being crafty is my weakness. I will buy it and bring it into the house whether I need it or not and not think twice about it. This is something that I am trying to work on though.
I decided, however, to just focus on items from my daughter’s room for today. I am planning on tackling craft items when my kids are out of the house. So, without further adieu, here is what I found to toss for today.
The first picture is from my daughter’s room. I found 23 items total.
Which category did you focus on today? How many items were you able to toss?
I can’t say enough about this course. It is an easy and fast way to get started decluttering. Kathi breaks it down room by room and area by area each day. There are printables for each day and calendar to keep you on track. She also has short videos everyday. Check out Kickstart to Clutter Free by Kathi Lipp here. The course is only 5.99 for a limited time! The best part is there is a 100% money back guarantee. This course is perfect to go through now before the holidays.
