An easy way I have found to stay on top of clean eating is to prepare ahead of time as much of my protein & carbs as possible. Today I thought I would share my favorite way to batch/ freezer cook grains such as brown rice or quinoa. I found the chart pictured below in a slow cooker better homes and gardens magazine.
It’s sad to say but it was the main reason I purchased the magazine. This chart has been a life saver since I don’t like having to stand over the stove and keep an eye on food that is cooking. It is really easy to just throw everything in the crockpot, turn it on, set a timer, and forget about it.
The main two I do is quinoa and brown rice. I have done overnight oatmeal and steel oats, which is awesome to have breakfast already done and ready to go when I wake up. Cooking grains in a crockpot is also nice if you do not have a rice cooker. I like having appliances that you can do multiple things with.
